Administrative history

J.A. Brock & Co. was a photography studio on Rosser Avenue in Brandon, Manitoba c. 1883-1890. J.A. Brock arrived in Brandon from Belleville, Ontario. In 1886, he formed a partnership with H.T. Devine and opened a second J.A. Brock & Co. in Vancouver. It was that city's first photographic studio, specializing in outdoor images. Brock returned to Brandon later in 1886 and continued to operate his studio until at least 1890.

Custodial history

Donated to the Daly House Museum in 1986.
