Administrative history

Cartwright Methodist Circuit encompassed Cartwright and several surrounding communities from approximately 1885 to 1920. Records of the Circuit indicate that congregations and members resided in Cartwright, Roblin, Turtle Mountain, Derby, Louise, Holmfield, Rock Lake, Hazeldell, Mylor, Manning and Mather.

Custodial history

The records of Cartwright Methodist Circuit came to the archives of the conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario as part of several transfers of records from the Cartwright-Mather Pastoral Charge between 1978 and 2000.

Scope and content

The surviving records of Cartwright Methodist Circuit include: Sacramental registers, pertaining to Baptisms dating from 1885 to 1916, Marriages dating from 1885 to 1916, and Burials dating from 1886 to 1916; Membership rolls and records of the Session, including a membership register dating from 1887 to 1918; and records of the Official Board, including minutes dating from 1885 to 1919.
