Administrative history

After flames destroyed ten businesses in the town, the Carberry Fire Department was established in 1899 to extinguish blazes. It was responsible for fighting the 1916 Mill fire. In 1949 it was awarded the first prize for fire prevention in the "Town Under 5,000" Population class by an unnamed agency. Custodial history

Records have been presented to the Carberry Plains Archives in 1992 by the Carberry Fire Department.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of minutes (1910-1977) including attendance and membership lists until 1968, and correspondence (1952, 1953).
