Administrative history
Brookdale School #1299 was founded in 1883 to provide educational services to children of the Brookdale, Manitoba area. Grade Twelve was first offered in 1932. It was rebuilt in 1904 as a two-storey building. In [1915] Harburn School District consolidated with Brookdale, and five years later Freeland and Belton School Districts also joined. In 1923 the school burned down, and was reconstructed. In 1961 a new school was built to offer high school courses, and was named Unity Collegiate. In 1971 the old school was closed and Grades One through Eight occupied the new building. Information on students and teachers is available in "Quest For Roots".
