Name of creator
The Brookdale 4-H Variety Club was founded in 1946 as the Girls and Boys Club for Brookdale, Manitoba. Its mandate was to provide recreational and developmental activities for rural children and youth. In 1957 the Club was reorganized and named the Brookdale Busy Fingers Club and the focus appears to have been on activities for women and girls. In 1963 activities expanded, and the group was renamed the Brookdale Variety 4- H Club. It is affiliated with other 4-H clubs locally, provincially, and nationally. The 4-H motto was "Learn to do by doing."
Records have been presented to the Carberry Plains Archives in 2002 by Connie Sumner of Sidney, Manitoba.
