The Brookdale 4-H Calf Club was founded in 1935 to provide opportunities for youth to develop skills in raising cattle. It was dissolved some time after 1958 due to declining membership. Other responsibilities later included debating and colt-raising activities. The first Calf Club Fair was held in 1935, and annual competitions followed. By 1938, these were joined with the Fat Stock Show and auction. Ithe club's name was changed on an unknown date to the Brookdale Beef Club. It was affiliated with provincial and Canadian agricultural fairs.
