On October 7, 1913 the Brandon City Council decided to grant the request of south end residents for water and sewer connections. The Brandon Daily Sun reported on November 10, 1913 that in spite of the frosty weather a gang of men were laying sewers on 18th Street south of College Avenue. Other crews were working on sewer and water extensions on 9th and 10th Street.
