The Brandon Golf and Country Club was formed in 1914 and incorporated the following year. The club purchased the North West quarter of Section 28 Township 10 and Range 19 known as the Jory Farm in 1917 to be used as the site of the golf course and club house. In 1947-48 the club built a new club house and golf course on the south side of the Assiniboine River known as the Brandon Recreational Centre (present day Wheat City Golf Course).
