Bob McBride was born November 17, 1946 in Toronto, Ontario and after performing back-up with the Ronnie Hawkins band, joined the rock band Lighthouse in 1970. Shortly afterwards, they played at Carnegie Hall. Lighthouse was featured in the Royal Winnipeg Ballet performance of A Ballet High, the first rock ballet, in 1970. He won a Juno award in 1973, the same year he left the band and began a solo career. Bob McBride passed away February 20, 1998 in Toronto.
