History

Berens River United Church has existed in the Manitoba community of Berens River, located on the northeastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, since 1925. Its predecessor was Berens River Methodist Church. Construction for a new church was begun in August of 1958 and was subsequently completed in October of that same year. This building consisted of a sanctuary, a club room, kitchen and auditorium. It was built by the Board of Home Missions for less than $30,000 from the special project fund of the Missionary and Maintenance Fund.
