History

At the time of formal Union with The United Church of Canada in 1925, Belmont and Alma were together as a two-point pastoral field. Hilton was also served by the Belmont charge after 1940. Belmont continued to have afternoon services and Alma morning services. Services at Alma United Church discontinued in 1960 and disappeared from the records in 1968. In 1975, Belmont, Hilton and Baldur became one charge known as the Belmont - Baldur Pastoral charge. The Belmont services were then held in the midday with Baldur and Hilton alternating morning and evening services each year.
