Biographical history

Armand Dupas was born April 4th, 1912 in St. Jean, Manitoba. He married Florence Beatrice Clarke in 1943. His family moved to The Pas when he was three months old. Armand was educated in The Pas. He worked on the construction of the “Harvey House”, worked for The Pas Lumber Company, was enlisted with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, and after being discharged he worked for the Department of Highways for 31 years before retiring at the age of 65.

Florence Dupas was born July 22nd, 1924, in Dauphin, Manitoba. She married Armand Dupas in 1943. She arrived in The Pas in 1937, and throughout her career worked at the Union Supply Store, Dial Electric, Wagner’s Jewellery, The Hudson’s Bay Company, and the Ospasquia School.

Custodial history

Records PA2000.5.1 – PA2000.5.11 were donated to the Sam Waller Museum by Armand and Florence Dupas on the 30th of October, 2000.

Scope and content

The Armand & Florence Dupas collection consists of a newspaper clipping for the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, two cheques to A. Dupas from Transport Ltd., Town of The Pas tax land receipt from 1949, Priority Suit Purchase certificate, Mechanical Transport Drivers Identification Card, tax notices for the Town of The Pas for 1947 and 1952, a Canadian National Telegram from 1943, a bill from St. Anthony’s Hospital, and a discharge certificate.
