Biographical history

Annabel Sanderson was born on March 1, 1935 at Moose Lake to Henry and Bella Ross. Her father was a trapper and had served in the army during World War I. Annabel married Fred Sanderson at age 16, and had her first of nine children when she was 17. For four winters after her marriage, she lived in the bush with her husband while he trapped at Crossing Bay. After that they moved to the Lamb family’s farm. Fred worked as a carpenter until 1983 when he became sick with pancreatic cancer. Annabel worked between 1959 and 1970 at Lamb’s trading post, and after that worked as a custodian at a school. Annabel also worked at a logging camp doing cooking for a few years in the 1970s. She was active in the Church of the Redeemer at Big Eddy as a lay reader since 1980.
