Biographical history

Allen Edgar Horton (1881-1972) was Secretary-Treasurer for the Town of Carberry, Manitoba between 1912-1959. He was born in Rawden Township, County of Hastings, Ontario and died in [Carberry]. He married Alma Mack in 1911. He moved to Manitoba in 1906, and worked six years in Alex Robertson's Furniture store. He also served as Secretary of the Carberry school district, collector for Manitoba Hydro for eighteen years, County Clerk, and issued auto licences.

Custodial history

Records have been presented to the Carberry Plains Archives in 1988 by Alma Horton, of Carberry.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of black and white photographs showing the Maple Leaf Hockey Club (1907-1908), and the Horton residence, all taken by Joseph Paynter.
