Raised in Transcona, son of Robert D. Angus who worked for Winnipeg Hydro, brother to Alice who worked at the Transcona Municipal Office. As a young boy, he joined the Scouts as a "Lone Scout" prior to the beginnings of the 1st Troop in Transcona and later became Assistant Scoutmaster. Began work in the 1930's cutting fireguards through the Sandilands Forest Reserve. Later obtained the caretaker's job at the Transcona Tennis Club. Had at least one son, James.
b. May 24th 1884 on his father's farm, Grey [or Bruce?] County, ON. Worked in Grand Trunk Pacific Railway drafting office in Montreal beginning 1902 as a machinist apprentice. Became supervisor of the apprentice classes in Toronto, 1905. In 1910 he was Chief Draughtsman with Grant Trunk Western at Battle Creek, Michigan. In 1912 he transferred to the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway as Chief Draughtsman, Mechanical Department in Winnipeg. Worked at CNR Transcona until retirement in 1949. Married Jennie May Henderson. Travelled extensively and kept up lifelong hobbies of photography, painting, and history. d. 18 October 1983.
