Biographical history

Raised in Transcona, son of Robert D. Angus who worked for Winnipeg Hydro, brother to Alice who worked at the Transcona Municipal Office. As a young boy, he joined the Scouts as a "Lone Scout" prior to the beginnings of the 1st Troop in Transcona and later became Assistant Scoutmaster. Began work in the 1930's cutting fireguards through the Sandilands Forest Reserve. Later obtained the caretaker's job at the Transcona Tennis Club. Had at least one son, James.

Collection brought to the THMA by source's son James Angus.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of documents related to the life of the source in Transcona.

Textual series comprises a memoire prepared by the source titled "Transcona Recollections".

Photograph series comprises a view of the Robert D. Angus house with daughter Alice and son Douglas, and portraits of Lt. Allen Haigh, FL. Doug Robinson, D.F.C., Town Clerk Jack Walden, Doug Angus, and Jack Tuxford.
