MAIN will be down for scheduled maintenance the evening of Friday, September 22. We apologize for the inconvenience.
MAIN is an online searchable database of descriptions of archival material held by Manitoba's archives. MAIN provides access to descriptions of a wide array of archival material, including letters, school records, digital objects, photographs, manuscripts, audiovisual records, legal documents, and maps. As a centralized resource for archival descriptions, MAIN facilitates access to records from a diverse range of creators.
MAIN is powered by AtoM, a web-based, open-source archival description software program. Embraced by a community of users world-wide, AtoM is designed to enable archival institutions of all sizes and types to make their holdings available online. Researchers are able to search for records in AtoM by creator, description, location, subject, or other entrance points. Once a relevant collection is located, users can contact the archives where the records are held to arrange access.
MAIN is hosted by Artefactual Systems.
